Randy was King County Executive in the 1990s who currently is a Washington State Hospital Association Vice President and is very active in advocacy for insurance parity. The 2nd Annual Move for Mental Health
Run/Walk took place on September 28, 2002 at Magnuson Park, Seattle. It was sponsored by the Greater Seattle Chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (formerly NAMI-WAMI) and the Community Psychiatric Clinic. Support was also provided by Sam's Club, Harborview Medical Center, Safeway, the Fremont Rotary Club, and Great Harvest.
More than 1,000 people attended. There were 568 registered participants. One hundred registrants were low-income, scholarship-sponsored runners and walkers. Forty volunteers helped out on race day.
